The Bushwacker is a fun, easy-to-surf performance egg like surfboard by Jeff "Doc" Lausch.
The Bushwacker is built like a performance egg, but with a pulled-in nose and tail that gives it a much more shortboard-like outline. Those subtle changes make it dramatically more capable in bigger and steeper conditions than a traditional egg, holding rail through real turns where most eggs would slide out.
When Doc first started shaping the Bushwacker, it was considered an alternative board for soft waves and beginner-to-intermediate surfers. Over time, something unexpected happened: experienced surfers started riding it too, and they didn't want to give it back. The Bushwacker catches waves with the ease of an egg, but you can still drive it hard off the tail like a shortboard. It's the rare board that grows with you, fun on day one, still fun ten years later.
Doc primarily shapes the Bushwacker with a round tail, though it also works beautifully as a swallow tail. He recommends the 5-box fin setup so you can experiment and dial in the configuration that fits your style: thruster or quad, whatever the day calls for.

Protects the crucial area of the board under your back foot. It’s worth the price if you are hard on your boards and have a tendency to crush the tail with your back foot.
