The V-12 Flying Turtle is a long board alternative that zips and rips. A small-wave groveler, inspired by the Mini Simmons template but built to do more than just glide.
Doc has always appreciated the speed, glide, and paddle ease of the classic Mini Simmons design, but wanted to build a version that could actually turn. The V-12 Flying Turtle keeps the iconic "bar of soap" outline that makes Mini Simmons-style boards so fun, but adds a tip-to-tail double barrel concave underneath that lets the straight outline hold on rail and bank hard through turns. The result is a board that's far more maneuverable than it looks. Insanely fast, fun, and capable of carving real arcs on a corner where most flat-bottomed grovelers just drift.
The V-12 is the original Flying Turtle, designed specifically for small mushy waves. The magic is in the volume: this template packs a huge amount of foam into a short, square package, so you paddle into everything and never run out of speed once you're up. Ride it short. That's where the design comes alive.
"A friend asked me where the Turtle name came from. Look at the squareness of the template — kind of looks like a turtle to me." — Doc

Protects the crucial area of the board under your back foot. It’s worth the price if you are hard on your boards and have a tendency to crush the tail with your back foot.
