Twin 82
The Twin 82 is a classic wing swallow tail twin fin design from the 1980s and one of the most enduring shapes in the Surf Prescriptions lineup. Doc Lausch has been shaping the Twin 82 since the original era, before the thruster explosion took over the industry, and he still shapes them today because they're fun, they work insane, and the riders who own them never want to let them go.
The Twin 82 features a flat deck, a full outline, and boxy rails for that classic 80s feel, paired with some vee running out through the tail so the board goes rail to rail effortlessly. The wing swallow tail gives it the bite and projection that made the original twin fin era so iconic. It paddles well, catches everything, and skates through small to medium surf with the kind of effortless flow that makes a session feel longer than it is.
Doc shapes the Twin 82 with an optional center fin box so you can dial in the feel: drop in a small stabilizer fin for extra projection and hold when you want a slightly more locked-in ride, or run it as a pure twin with upright fins for a snappier, looser, freer feeling.
